Sohar University was opened in September 2001 at the undergraduate, master’s, and doctoral levels as the first private university in the port and free zone of the second-largest city in the Sultanate of Oman. Along with six faculties of Business Administration, Engineering, Computer and Information Technology, Education and Arts, English Language, and Linguistic Sciences, the university has close academic and legal cooperation and collaboration with the University of Queensland, Australia, and 90 percent of its admitted students are international students.
At the heart of Sohar University’s advanced campus, a fully equipped laboratory with state-of-the-art international tools and equipment is available for research and knowledge transfer to students.
