Sultan Qaboos University in Muscat, the flagship of higher education in Oman, began its activities in 1986 with 500 students. It currently has more than 7,738 students studying in its faculties, including the faculties of Agricultural and Marine Sciences, Arts and Social Sciences, Economics and Political Science, Education, Engineering, Law, Nursing, Medicine and Health Sciences, and Science. By providing facilities such as scholarships, research opportunities, and student exchange programs with reputable international universities, the university helps its students continue their education in the best possible way and prepare for entering the job market.
The university follows an academic calendar from September to June (September–January; February–June) and admits students at the bachelor’s, master’s, and doctoral levels, with approximately 21% of its students being international students.
